The TC Health and Wellness Foundation built The Edward Gartland Youth Centre1 in 2008 to provide high school students with a haven and after-school programs. Our Youth Center provides a safe space for young individuals to learn, engage, and empower themselves. Our programs include sensitization workshops, educational support, and peer mentorship. The TC Health and Wellness Foundation focuses on reducing the stigma around HIV by cultivating youth sensitization on HIV, STIs, health, hygiene, and wellness strategies for young women.
Young women represent a vulnerable population with unique health challenges. They often face barriers such as limited access to health care, lack of awareness about preventive measures, and stigma surrounding sexual and reproductive health. Our foundation empowers youth with vital health education, skill development, hygiene edification, easy access to contraceptives (once approved by a parent or guardian), and proven wellness strategies for a brighter, healthier future.
We also work towards creating a supportive environment that fosters their overall health and well-being. Every one of our services is offered entirely free of charge, ensuring everyone can access the care they deserve.
