20th Annual Jadot Cup Dinner & Golf Tournament Raises Approximately $35,000 For The Turks & Caicos Aids Awareness Foundation

20th Annual Jadot Cup Dinner (Opus) & Golf Tournament (Provo Golf Club) Raises Approximately $35,000 For The Turks & Caicos Aids Awareness Foundation (Tcaaf)”

June 20th 2022 – Twenty two teams took part in the Turks and Caicos AIDS Awareness Foundation’s (TCAAF) 20thAnniversary of the Annual Jadot Cup Golf Tournament which commenced at 1:30pm at the Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club.  This Galmo Williams inspired event was well attended and everyone had an outstanding time.

The Anniversary celebrations commenced with a Jadot Cup Dinner on Friday June10th at Opus Restaurant which was hosted by the Wine Cellar. The sold-out event was fully enjoyed by all with a menu of scrumptious dishes and fascinating wines. (Photo attached)

Mr. Galmo Williams, TCAAF’s Patron and Chairman, said “Congrats to Tony Arata and the Opus team for hosting an unforgettable food and wine pairing. Their staff’s expertise and courteous manner were unforgettable. Thank You to our Silent Auction sponsors, like Ocean Club Resorts , Hemingways and Wymara (just to name a few) who donated exceptional prizes which inspired wallets to open enthusiastically. I would also like to thank the patrons that bid generously on the silent auction prizes knowing that it was all going to a worthy cause. A special “Thank You” to Kobrand for their generous donation and to Carl Simmons, Pete Soteropoulos, Dave Parlee, Greg Greatrex, Tony Arata, Adrian Corr, Mike Adamo, Terry Drummey and Denise Douglas for their monetary pledge to 20 years of Jadot Cup. In 20 years, we can proudly say our Foundation has raised approximately $300,000 which has supported not only the youths of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) but persons living with HIV/AIDS.”

According to the Edward Gartland Youth Centre Chairman, Jadot Cup Chairman and TCAAF Director Terry Drummey “The 20th annual Jadot cup was a memorable and historic event.  An average of 88 golfers came out this year and we would like to express gratitude to each of them for their never-ending support.  Congratulation to the winning team members: Mark Fulford, Carl Simmons, Rob Ayer and Perry Delancy (photo attached). A special thank you goes out to all the companies that donated to this worthy cause; Wine Cellar, Opus and Dave and his staff from the Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club who helped to make our 20th Anniversary a huge success.”

Director of Golf at the Provo Golf Club, Dave Douglas highlighted, “This year’s Jadot Cup event and Silent Auction was a fun filled fundraiser for the Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club, congratulations to TCAAF on their 20th Anniversary.”

The weekend’s event helped to raise funds for the TCAAF who built the Edward Gartland Youth Centre and provides much needed assistance to persons living with HIV/AIDS and the youths in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Appreciation goes out the Directors, Board members, Executive Director, and volunteers of TCAAF for their commitment, dedication and hard work.

About the TCAAF

 

The TCAAF is an independent, non-profit organization formed in 2003 to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Turks and Caicos Islands and its rippling, negative effects on the community through increased education and awareness.  The primary focus of the TCAAF is to affect positive lifestyle and behavioral changes and to engage our communities in meaningful conversations on HIV transmission and prevention, thus minimizing and ending HIV-related stigma   The TCAAF dedicates its time to fundraising efforts which goes towards improving the health and wellbeing of persons living with HIV and AIDS in the TCI and to the youths of the Edward Gartland Youth Centre.
